Why is Our Scientists not as productive as their Counterparts in other countries? This question kept bothering me ever since this pandemic arose. When is our scientists going to develop our own Covid 19 Test kit even if we get the results in 36 hours. Where are all these guys parading Bsc in science this and science that? They say the virus is deadly and all of you ran away to hide. I expect our scientists to be up and doing in the Labs like their counterparts in China and US and get us results . No be the same science una read?

Corona virus has its good part. if not anything else, a realization that we can get stuck in our own pooh or shithole as POTUS would say . The earliest we realize the enormity of Educational quagmire and the need to dump this certification mentality , the better for us.

Okay, let's agree for the sake of this thread that religion is the reason religious Nigerian scientists are unproductive.

What exactly is the reason non religious ones are not doing any better?

It's very easy.... They are not funded .
The leaders are too greedy to properly fund anything that would boost the lives of the citizens .

In a country where no year passes without doctors protesting or going on strike, in some states or in the whole country, what do you expect.

Scientific research is a very very expensive process.
