Tony Elumelu Foundation Suspends 2020 Entrepreneurship Funding Drive. by Starke(m): 3:11pm On Apr 04, 2020
In response to the current crisis resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, the entrepreneurship-focused African philanthropy, the Tony Elumelu Foundation, has announced the difficult decision to postpone the 6th edition of its Entrepreneurship Programme and the TEF Forum until 2021. Given the paramount importance of public health and safety, this sadly appears to be the only appropriate course of action.
Speaking through their website, The Foundation's Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu made this known to the public.
The Foundation however continues to support entrepreneurs with online business training and support.
Recall that the Foundation funded 3015 businesses across the African continent with a non-refundable $5000 worth of seed capital in 2019.
The above announcement constitutes a painful and unwelcome news in the light of global economic uncertainty hoisted upon the world by the rampaging Covid-19 pandemic.
