COVID-19 Lockdown: Be Your Brother's Keeper by Godfreytimesblo(m): 2:32pm On Apr 06, 2020
A brother's keeper is one who understands Godly love as expressed in Christ's sacrifice. In the book of John 15:13,it is written that greater love had no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends…that is the greatest Brother's keeper…for a man to lay down his life for another.

That kind of love is embodied in the final words of Jesus. As he hung dying on the cross he said: Father forgive them for they do not know what they do. This is what Jesus asked of the father for His murderers on His dying cross. He was bleeding, dying but the same man told the father: forgive my murderers for they do not know what they do. This kind of love is not a part time job but a way of life.

Let it be your lifestyle. We must be our brother's keeper. In this trying time, in this season of corona virus, in this time of staying-at-home, you must be your brother's keeper. We are all called to do this. God's desire for us involves God's calling. John 6:44 "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." , the lifestyle we live today determines how God draws us close to Christ and determines how Jesus will raise us on the last day.

It is a mistake in the ministry today , when you are ordained or you become a worker, you feel so superior, No. When you are ordained, you are called to serve. you are called to love others. You are called to correct others. You are called to be kind. You are called to show others the way. You are God's ambassador.

Remember always that you are a flag bearer of Christ. Whatever lifestyle you exhibit affects Jesus positively or negatively. In this period of stay-at-home, it is for us to examine our lives in these categories: 1) Our relationship with God. (2) Our relationship with our immediate family. (3) Our relationship with our extended families. (4) Our relationship with our neighbors. (5) Our relationship with our health. This is the time you truthfully examine yourself and give yourself a pass mark.

This is a time to correct all your errors. The time to connect back to your creator. The time to be your brother's Keeper indeed. The bible says our brother will be lost unless we are our brother's keeper…There are things we must not do as the children of God in this trying period. There are things we must not exhibit…we must stop running people down, don't mock your brother, don't backbite your brother, stop cheating on your brother, stop lying to your brother, and stop lying against your brother. Repent now and change your ways to suit the purpose of God creating you.

Jesus was a giver of all good things. He was not a taker. He was not a receiver. It is time to reconcile with God. It is time for us to reconcile with our siblings. It is time for us to reconcile with our husbands. It is time for us to reconcile with our wives. It is time for us to reconcile with our boss. It is time for us to reconcile with our children, of course…don't be too big to reconcile with your children.

In this your time of staying-at-home, it is time for you to checkmate yourself. It is time for you to do away with all your wrongs.……pastor Benson Enakhena/Elshaddai Salvation Family Ministries.
