How many people have tested for Coronavirus and how many of them are influential people in the society? A lot of Nigerians are asking this question with uncertainty on whether the country is fully prepared to combat this deadly virus or not

With over 250 confirmed cases in Africa most populous country, it is a question of time, issues might escalate if care is not taken and adequate response is not provided.

A mobile app promises to make it easier for anyone to have access to medical facilities by identifying people who have the virus at early stage and people in rural areas can also contact emergency lines and get quick response.

This seems like the only way to combat the COVID-19 virus which originated from Wuhan China in December 2019 and has since spread to other parts of the world killing more than 70000 people in the process.

On the app is home page alerting users of the latest coronavirus cases and news from their area. This information aims to keep users updated while they self isolate in their homes.

No vaccine is out yet, not even the World Health Organisation (WHO) provides a clear date for the release of a vaccine, so countries like Nigeria can adopt the quick emergency approach in combating the virus. Before now, there is no central system that makes the COVID-19 hotlines available to the public except for fragmented piece of information on social media from individual states and country emergency units.

The New COVID-19 update app has the database of all the emergency hotlines for all the African countries and might as as well expand to other continents in the coming releases.

The app is accessible on the official website covid19.app is available on android playstore for anyone to download and would be released on apple store in the coming weeks.

Right now, there is no cure for the virus but this app promises to help people identify and prevent the spread of the virus from daily diagnosis to safety tips and emergency lines which are available for anyone who notices symptoms of the virus.
