Just like, the tales of nri kingdon from the eastern part of nigeria to unite the igbos by one Ancestor failed. Oduduwa mythical tales due to the fact it was made in the early 1900 succeeded , at the early years of nigeria yorubas as we know were disunited and identified themselves separately the British had later encouraged various ethnic groups to put in thier stories in a written document, the yorubas had embraced education faster than the other tribes because of the help of awolowo, the benins on the other hand were denied education by the British even when they initially first requested for education, Oduduwa myth was coupled by the help of awolowo and the other yoruba elite to bring yorubas into one Ancestor for easy unification, ife became a bed rock because leo Frobenius had earlier excavated artworks from ife and it instantly became an Hotspot for Oduduwa political myth, if Oduduwa story from ife had happened to have been true it would only be unique only to the ife people and not the entire yorubas like awolowo made us belief,
egharevba on the other who happened to have had a benin father and ondo mother had merged the benin ekaladeran history and linked it with the Oduduwa srory just to unite the benins with the yorubas in the former western region,
Ekaladeran who was never Oduduwa but an edo prince had excaped to uhe a Nickname of ughoton in the eastern part of Benin were he had impregnated the enogies daughter and he moved up north were no one knew were he had gone to after the death of the last ogiso some chiefs had gone to ughoton to search for ekaladeran they meant the enogie of ughoton who had told them ekaladeran had moved up north to an unknown place and he had left an heir behind who was eweka and the chiefs took him back to benin, egharevba who happened to have written the first benin history found away to linked ekaladeran migration to ife in other to unite the edo people with the rest yorubas after his first publication on benin history he was awarded a doctorate degree in the University of ibadan, Oduduwa indeed was a political mythology by awolowo to unites all yorubas under one umbrella it is left for the other yorubas to find were they were originally from and stop hiding under the disguise of one ancestory to run from self research

Gregyboy or greg whatever you choose as monicker, you need to know that at this age and time people can discern politically induced writers from writers with sound research background. Whether you like it or not, the historical relationship between the Yorubas and the Edo people have come to stay and you should perhaps be worried about more serious issues of economic stability and political manipulations.

Although some of us are in middlebelt, we indeed wish to be in South West, not because SW has all but chances of rapid development is higher in the region in the events of reversal back to Regional Federation system destroyed by Aguyi Ironsi and Ben Akabueze. Indeed, there's no reason to worry about if Yorubas were united before colonial administration or not. Even within the same nuclear family has every member of the family been agreeing all the time. Are you saying the entire Northern Nigeria of even South East are united? Please don't distract yourself.

I never said the entire east was united nor the north i specifically brought out the mythology that united yoruba by ancestory, edos are linked to the yorubas by ondo and ekiti and lagos and not ife or Oduduwa, benin and ife never had any connections does not mean that benin and yorubas didnt have any connections but ife and benin never had any connections at all, likewise yoruba tracing themselves to one ancestory is fallacious
