The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu has claimed that 90% of COVID-19 patients recover without any intervention.

Ihekweazu revealed this during a media briefing on Wednesday.

He made the remarks while responding to a question on how the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, recovered in less than one week.

According to him, someone infected with coronavirus, usually required support for the body to recover by itself.

“We should remember that 90 per cent of these patients recover without any intervention. So, if you take something and say you recovered and that something is why you recovered, it doesn’t quite add up.

“There are very few viruses with a cure. So, you go to a hospital and for COVID-19, you’re given oxygen. Oxygen is not really a treatment; it’s to keep you alive for long enough for you to recover yourself,” he said.

As at Wednesday night, Nigeria had recorded 276 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 44 patients have been discharged.

This is the only Truth I believe I have come across so far since this pandemic started.
Further explains the necessity for availability of ventilators.

In addition, it has answered my question on why people are not dying the way they are supposed to sequel to the reports on how deadly the virus is with its high infectious capacity.
People have been recovering without knowing that the virus passed through their systems.
Perhaps, the health personnel have been hoarding the truth so that the ignorant masses would continue to applaud their efforts. As if telling the truth would stop us from lending credence to them.

Thanks Sir, for telling the truth.

The Governor treated it and got well. Gave his story out freely. You Mr man don't have it, can't help those who do since you will watch them helplessly in the hospital hoping they recover, when they feel worse you will pin them down with laws of isolation so they can't find help. And you debunk a fighter's story? You say seek help in the hospital when you know there is no help there? You sound stupid I swear!!! The 10% that are dying are not people ba.. Can the 10% be you and your family members? So you will say it's fine it's no big deal to save their lives.. Every lives is special and should be defended till death.
