It was on the mountain of pain
That life became naked to me.
When I became like a man chased to a wall,
Whose only way of surviving is by facing its adversaries.

Seated where birds gather to tell accient folktales
From atop tall lonely trees,
I sank into my thoughts,
Wandering into the desert of my past;
The days I had to survive on nothing,
But by turning my hunger to fasting.
When I learnt to live on nothing
But air , water and stubborn will power.

I have been a wanderer, surviving countless arrows
Life shot at me from birth.
Why should I become a coward now
After tasting victory in a thousand battlefront of life?
Why should I navigate through the ocean of life
In a boat of fear and paddle of wishes?

Life is an adventure,
And all I will have when sleeping in my casket
Is memories I made while my journey lasted.
Why should I tiptoe through life,
Only to land safely at death?
Why should I keep counting the stars
Just to distract myself from the terror of reality?
Why should I keep letting out more tears,
Only for it to stop me from seeing what lies ahead?
These questions I asked my doubt
as I wander in the desert of my past.

It was in dilemma ,men learnt that
The devil also bleed in battles
And the red Sea do part ways.
Why should I be comfortable sitting on the fence of life,
And continue drinking from the cup of self pity.

When the battle seems toughest,
I will wear the armor of courage.
I will keep moving even when it seems a dead end.
For experience has thought me
That once there is a will, there must be a way.
