Major Decisions Reached At A Joint Emergency Niger Sec Meeting by Chiefpress: 8:31pm On Apr 11, 2020
MAJOR DECISIONS REACHED AT A JOINT EMERGENCY NIGER STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING AND STATE TASKFORCE ON COVID-19 HELD AT THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE, MINNA.

1. Niger State Government places 24-hours complete lockdown for 2-weeks starting from Monday 13th April 2020.

2. Government appeal to citizens to give their maximum cooperation.

3. Four days window has been provided starting from Thursday 16 April, Monday 20th April, Thursday 23rd April; and Monday 27th April 2020 from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

4. The window period is is not for social and religious gathering as defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted.

5. All social and religious congregational activities are suspended.

6. Intra and inter state movement of people are banned within the lockdown period.

8. All borders across the state are closed.

9. Limawa Community in Minna where a case was dictated is to be isolated for two weeks.

10. Health workers to conduct sensitization on the spread of the virus.

11. Quarantine Centre at the Social Rehabilitation Centre Minna has been reactivated in addition to the fully equipped one at the Minna General Hospital.

12. Government has commenced the furnishing of the 48-bed capacity isolation/treatment centre donated by El-Amin Foundation in Minna.

13. All the identified isolation centres in the state are to be equipped.

14. The public has been urged to use all precautionary measures by using facemasks when going out as well as adhering to frequent hand washing and social distancing.

15. Government has commenced the distribution of palliatives at ward levels.

16. Civil Servants are to operate at home except those on essential services.
