Nigerians have been asked not to despair at the face of the enormous challenges facing the country, particularly the threat posed by the ravaging coronavirus disease.

Thiṣ̣̣ call was made by the Chairman of Governors Mandate Network (GMN), Earl Osaro Onaiwu during his Easter Day address.

Onaiwu noted that although the myriad of challenges facing Nigerians in the various states of the federation are manifest, the people should take solace in the hope that the nation will rise above it just as Jesus Christ rose again at Easter which is now being celebrated annually.

The GMN boss stated that the challenges of the time are not peculiar to Nigeria alone as about one-third of the world population are on COVID-19 lockdown, shattering businesses and decapitating many economies. He noted that Nigeria is relatively faring better in the management of the global crisis therefore there is hope on the horizon if the government sustains the tempo.

Mr. Onaiwu therefore salute the state governors, corporate entities and public spirited individuals for providing relief packages to the suffering masses in this trying time.
