So, at 3:24am today (13th April, 2020), I got an email from Mr. Olajide Ahmed.

"Hi, Welcome to the Affiliate Marketing Online Business Training you just signed up for...."

I was curious. I did not sign up for any affiliate marketing business. Anyway, I kept reading. Such a nice guy.

"My name is Olajide Ahmed and together with my business partner; Toyin Omotoso... I want to say a Big Congratulations!...."

Cool, very cool.

Then he went on to blow my mind with some secret and powerful business opportunity — how he was going to show me how to make over 400,000 Naira in 72 hours (three days), all for free!

I was impressed. So, I clicked on the link to get myself trained right away, for free. I mean, why not? We are all locked down so who wouldn't want to make over 400,000 Naira in three days, just lying in bed and sipping tea?

I landed on a website with the warning: "NOTE: Video Expires on April 11, 2020".

Wait a minute. I received the email on the 13th of April but the video would be expiring on the 11th! What a beautiful way to plan a click bait!

I was like "OMG, I hope I have not missed this golden opportunity ����".

I heaved a sigh of relief when I realised that I could do myself a favour by getting the special offer only if I could pay just 30,000 Naira. I mean, it's a free training but paying 30,000 Naira won't hurt, you know. Or will it?

The saying, "an idle mind is the devil's workshop" is very apt in this period of Corona Virus lock down. A lot is happening right now, especially online.

If you're reading this on Facebook, be sure to secure your Facebook account. Tons of Facebook accounts have been hacked. There are so many online trainings, fun sites, online degree/certificate programmes, not forgetting a number of ponzi schemes here and there.

So, be wise and vigilant. Stay safe people.

Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
