Dreal1247: Will you keep kwayet?! Did anyone ask your useless government to accept the grant? The last time I checked, it's a grant not a loan. Remember, you have the right to turn down gifts BTW, may God bless these donors |

Dreal1247: Most African countries got into the problems by running economies based on selling raw materials, sharing the money, and importing stuff that vlauewise costs more than the value of our exports. Also, most African countries were busy practicing socialism....ie, have one state company run everything. Here in Nigeria, a big reason why power supply is bad is that from independence, we set up a state company that was running a monopoly on power. As a result, the people running the thing had no incentive to make it profitable, and efficient since they would get money from government at the end of the year. And even now that they have privatized the thing, the government is still controlling the price, making it difficult for them to be profitable. Finally, most of us don't like technical and vocational education. It is the technicians and vocationalists that build your economy, not a university graduate doing clerical work. At the end of the day, our economies are not productive, and we have to go and take loans. China, Japan and South Korea were once like us. (South Korea was so backward, that their US friends even thought they would be backward for life). What did they do?? Got productive. They did not go and sell raw materials and import finished goods at a cost higher than the value of their exports. Today they are industrial powers. 3 Likes |
