Covid 19 coronavirus: UFC champion Israel Adesanya supports Whanganui and other communities
16 Apr, 2020 9:04am

Whanganui boy and New Zealand's 2019 Sportsman of the Year Israel Adesanya is showing his support in the fight against Covid-19.

The mixed martial arts exponent and UFC middleweight world champion is dipping into his own pocket to provide 10,000 three-ply face masks and 1000 eye protection face shields for Whanganui's frontline health staff.

Adesanya said it is a small way of helping, but a small thing can go a long way.

"I can't do it for the whole world, but I can help the communities I know, the places that I have been a part of."

He is also supplying personal protective equipment (PPE) in Auckland, where he now lives, and the Nigerian city of Lagos, where he was born.

Adesanya came to Whanganui as a teenager with his parents. His family still lives here, with his mum, Tai, a nurse in the emergency department at Whanganui Hospital.

The UFC champion first developed an interest in mixed martial arts and it was in Whanganui that he started a kickboxing career that has taken him to the international stages.

Whanganui District Health Board (DHB) chief executive Russell Simpson said he was humbled by Adesanya's generosity.

"The DHB is extremely grateful that Israel has DHB staff and the healthcare community in his thoughts as we fight against Covid-19. On behalf of all of the staff at Whanganui DHB, we thank him for his generous donation."

The PPE is expected to arrive within two weeks.

Wow... May God bless him.

I wanna ask this question.... Why is the Nigerian govt feeling so relaxed and not bothered about the state of our health factor? We have less ventilators and other facilities yet they are not saying anything... This govt are the worst in the history of Nigeria.

This is Nigeria where people donates and the Donations are converted to Govt private use, I wouldn't be surprised if we found out that one of this said Political leaders has transferred them to his hospital and use..

Great gesture by the last Stylebender. This is a real son of the soil who understands his roots.

This is what our Nigerian celebrities with means should be emulating. Being a celebrity is not only about benefiting from fans and doing publicity stunts. They need to give back to their communities. Only very few of them have done that.

Anthony Joshua you're next.

Where are other Nigerian celebrities.

Very good at showcasing on Instagram with price tags. Common support when it's most needed, they all have gone underground.

And our pastors too, they have stopped doing miracles

Dear Sane Nairalanders, you can now see why God will decide to bless some people and ignore some.
Cos God is an all knowing God,
he can see what you will do if he gives you the BILLIONS.
The heart of man is truly desperately wicked,
as it is written in the Holy Book.

Chinese researchers are said to have used coronaviruses in their work to develop an AIDS vaccine.

. This explains everything now. This explains why the virus has spike proteins when normal coronavirus never did (except Covid and SARS which are genetically modified). This explains why they would enable it to infect humans.

In any case, this thesis, defended by Professor Luc Montagnier, has a positive turn. According to him, the altered elements of this virus are eliminated as it spreads: “Nature does not accept any molecular tinkering, it will eliminate these unnatural changes and even if nothing is done, things will get better, but unfortunately after many deaths.”

Apparently, artificially altered virus strains eventually regress through proliferation, and degrade back into what they were before being altered. Do you know what this means? According to Dr Shi Zhengli, the part of the virus that was altered is the part where the HIV fragments were added, which is the s-protein, the spikes on the outside that allow it to infect people.

And if those degrade and disappear, the virus will change back into its original coronavirus form, a form that can only infect bats. China is going to get away with everything , they are just delaying things as long as they can so the virus can wear/burn itself out to the point of disappearing from people entirely by losing its way to infect people.

This is a great development, what goes around comes around. He has sent a good signal to the universe, regardless of whether the recipients make good use of it or not. All that matter is intention.
