The number of confirmed cases of novel corona virus in Africa surged to 17,578 as at April 16, 2020.

According to report the number of confirmed cases of novel corona virus in Africa hits 17,578 with 3,583 recovered cases and 916 deaths recorded so far.

The most affected countries with the highest number of confirmed cases in Africa are: South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Cameron.

The novel corona virus disease was first discovered in Whuan, China, late last year and had spread to more than 120 countries in the world out of which 44 countries were affected in Africa.
