COVID-19: OMNI FOUNDATION PROVIDES PALLIATIVE PACKAGES TO THE POOR AND VULNERABLE IN UGWULANGWU, EBONYI STATE.

Martin Luther King Jr. holds that Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are you doing for others?". Mother Theresa instructed that "If you can’t feed a hundred people, feed just one.”

Whatever we do will be insignificant, but it is very important that we still do it and that's why everyone should have one thing to give, irrespective of how insignificant.

It's on this Humanitarian notes that OMNI FOUNDATION, a Non-Governmental Organization yielded once more to the plights of the poor and vulnerable hugely affected by the global Pandemic and provided Bags of rice(25kg) and Cash to help them cope with the current difficult times.

On Sunday, 12th April,2020, at Amaogudu Town Hall, in Amaogudu, Uhuotaru, Ugwulangwu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Widows, less Privileged and the vulnerable persons across the Amaogudu clan gathered and 25Kg bags of rice and a reasonable sum (in Cash) were distributed to each of them as assistance from the Foundation to help them cushion the untold hardship brought on earth by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Speaking at the Occasion, the Executive Director of the Foundation - Dr David Ogbonna, who was represented by Chief Frank Ivoh Agueze, encouraged the beneficiaries not to give in to dispair by their conditions but rather trust God and pray that He blesses their benefactors to enable them keep up their good works. He admonished them that those who are a little more fit should think of engaging in any petty business no matter how small after the Pandemic to better ensure their survival and assured them that the Foundation will also partner with such individuals to ensure their proper kick-starting.

He also enjoined other illustrious Sons and Daughters of the Community in particular and Nigeria at large to lend helping hands to the deprived and downtrodden as the world battles to pass through this difficult phase of living.

"We may not solve all the problems, but we can solve one of the problems and in so doing, most of the problems will be solved", he added.

It should be recalled that this is not the first time the Foundation has come to the rescue of the less-privileged and also have been providing educational supports to many Indigenes of Ugwulangwu Community, from Secondary schools to Higher Institutions and post-graduate education.

The foundation has also embarked on N500,000 cash Award to any Indigene of Ugwulangwu who finishes with First Class Honours from any tertiary Institution in Nigeria. Some students who have distinguished themselves in this regard have benefitted from their Award and many more will benefit from it.

The Ugwulangwu Town Union President, Elder Nweke Onyekachi, and the Amaogudu Clan Chairman - Mr Nwabekee, both appreciated the efforts of the Foundation.

Elder Nweke said he's very proud of the continual efforts of the CEO/Chairman of the Foundation - Mr Nwigwe Chibueze Uzo, towards Community development, describing him as a Worthy Son of the Community.

Mr Nwabekee said that each time he remembers that the CEO of Omni Foundation is an illustrious Son of the Amaogudu Clan, his face and countenance usually beams with happiness. He noted that Mr Nwigwe, through his Foundation has provided Scholarships in Secondary Schools to many Sons and Daughters of the Clan and prayed that God continue to bless him and the executives of his Foundation.

Other recognized personalities present at the Occasion were the Amaogudu Clan Women Leader, and some Community Chiefs.

The Omni Foundation utilizes this medium to appreciates everyone instrumental to the execution of this project and thanks the beneficiaries for their heart-warming, sincere prayers.

The foundation encouraged all Nigerians to keep faith with each other and support each other, and appropriate authorities as we both battle to return to normal activities. Those our Brothers and Sisters who's means of livelihood have been truncated by the Lockdown order, despite how difficult it is, should be encouraged to hang on knowing that life prevails over wealth and that once there's life, hope prospers. We shall soon get over this, together!
