The rate at which new cases of covid-19 infection are recorded everyday shows that the lockdown many on many parts of the country is ineffective.

Reasons:

1. The government has been unable to provide for the feeding of people during the lockdown, hence the need to relax the lockdown in some days of the week. This renders the whole sit-at-home directive a joke. People rush out and mingle, the go back home to mingle more with neighbors and relatives. This has done little in keeping the infection off. Infected people who re not yet symptomatic can infect others easily.

2. People are not taking social distancing serious. One of the biggest challenges at tackling this pandemic is the thought of the average Nigerian that it can not infect someone close to me. Hence, they continue to hobnob and touch with little care. The virus continues to spread.

3. Virus or no virus, the government cannot feed the people for long. Therefore, people need to go out, make money and buy for to eat.

4. The fact that people continue to contact the virus despite the lockdown shows that the approxh is not effective, and a change of strategy is necessary.

5. The simple most important measure in curbing the spread is not touching face (mouth, nose, eyes).

6. We don't know when a medicine for covid-19 will be found, and people can't remain t home forever.

Solution:

1. Free people to go work and make their daily bread.

2. Make the use of face covers compulsory for everyone outside his room. The purpose of the face covers is to discourage the touching of the faces as well as reduce contact of liquid from an infected person.

3. Emphasize social distancing in public places.

This is a more realistic approach since we do not know when a medicine for covid-19 will be found.

The government should urgently consider this.

This too shall pass.
God bless Nigeria.

Why not leave Ibadan people Governor alone to take care of citizens in his own way?
So he's now a dictator for caring for the people he governs?

What a colossal idiot

Imagining what’s coming out in ur fucking mouth.. you already show you are one of those that were aiming at castigating GSM..
read the contents of the news again and u will see he will surely produce face mask for those that can’t afford it.. but u purposely show your level of illiteracy just because the guy is causing u headache.. God will reward you with more sense in future..

Best governor. Wearing of Mask and gloves is the best preventive measure.
Ekiti and Osun are blessed with egoistic, useless, underperforming, eye service governors who have lockdown their people to suffer in order to receive billions from FG.
Hunger is ravaging Ekiti right now.The return of Fayemi is a total disaster for Ekiti people.
What did Makinde do that makes him different from Osun and Ekiti governors in terms of performance, makinde will be reaping the result of his refusal to lockdown his state in days to come.

Your comment shows how gullible you are. Does a law need to be passed before you know GSM is trying to salvage the situation before it gets worse

Always make sure to properly wash your face mask with detergent before use. Most of those face masks are already contaminated with the virus.

whether u buy it with your money or it was shared to u. Don't just put it on without disinfecting it. That is the quickest way of spreading the virus

You're more than stupid my friend. Makinde is toying with the lives of Oyo State residents. The guy claimed to have spent 1 billion naira but nothing on ground. He didn't build anything, no ventilators, no face masks.
Did you read the news above? Everything was would would would. When is he going to act? The clown even claimed that he would be carrying out 2000 tests on daily basis!
