Hello guys!

My name is Titus Bulum Maiva, a serving corps member (Batch B1 2019) in Offa, Kwara State.

Due to the lockdown situation in this part of the state (Offa, Kwara State), and how the disastrous Covid-19 Virus is complicating issues in the country, I thought of a means of sanitizing the hands in public places with high level of safety.

Since the lockdown will one day be relaxed for people to visit Banks, Markets, and move around in public places, there is a need for sanitizing the hands to ensure total safety even when the nose and mouth are covered using the popular medicated mask.

The set up I designed is based on using alcohol based sanitizer, containing Ethanol/2-Propanol, Glycerol, Aloevera and clean distilled water, with volume percentages according to WHO standard. The sanitizer is very effective in killing all enveloped viruses, including the raging Corona Virus.

No part of the setup is allowed to be touched with the hands (even when in gloves), the only part to be touched is a foot pad that opens and closes a valve regulating the flow of sanitizer liquid. To prevent contaminating the foot pad, drops of sanitizer will continually fall on it at a slower rate to kill any virus on it.

The setup is very easy to fabricate, having simple/common materials and straight forward connections.

I am planning to fabricate it as a kind of personal project for public places like market entrances, ATM joints, worship center entrances, Schools, hostels, house compounds, streets in communities and for my fellow corps members during CDS meetings.

Not only for Corona Virus issues, but also for safety against any form of disease and to exercise good hygienic behaviors.

Room is opened for recommendations, corrections, additional ideas and questions.

Alright, but hope you know the size of a 50L container right?
in terms of public use, anything less than that will be smaller than portable.
