ASUU Drags Minister For Education Over E-Learning In Universities, “He Lacks Proper Education”

The Minister Of Education, Adamu Adamu made it known to reporters that there was ongoing efforts for University Students to take lectures via the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation Of Nigeria (FRCN) which are both government owned broadcast platforms.

Due to the Corona Virus, Schools have been shut and at a presidential briefing in Abuja last week Tuesday, He made it known that the Ministry Of Education had been planning E-learning for long even before the Pandemic and stated that some tertiary institutions were already giving lessons online and he hoped It would be a permanent feature of the Nigerian Educational System

He also made it known that he had given direction to Vice Chancellors, meanwhile the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) had gone on a nationwide strike since March 9,2020 due to a disagreement with the government over issues of University rehabilitation and academic allowance but the Minister also in quote said “As far as I know, there is nobody who has not been paid his or her salary”

Things took a sour turn when the ASUU Body released a bulletin titled “The Directive By The Minister Of Education That Tertiary Institutions Should Resume The Session By Online Teaching” in which The Minister Of Education was painted as a ................... ................... .............

Everything has a start. Who says each institution can't be funded to have apps their students can download that has their syllables and curriculum. At least students can read previous works and curriculum remaining before Lockdown is over.

We may not be prepared now, but we can keep all students engaged and busy as their lecturers will be mandated to up their game

Videoconference apps and a dedicated online learning platform is the way to go. Submit assignments and take exams online.
