We have been on lockdown for a month SNF figures are going up instead of reducing therefore lockdown should be called off. Allow us freedom, we shall practice good hygiene and safety, lockdown is useless.

Now that covid 19 curve of the rest of the world is plateauing and descending, ours is peaking.
This is no joke.
God! deliver us!
Africa is going to be the epicenter when it has flattened in the developed world. WHO said so. Even now some in Nigeria don't believe in this disease while the opposition and those who hate Buhari are doing every thing possible to frustrate the government efforts. But none of us is immuned from the disease.

Is NCDC a scam?
Edo has only 7 active cases, but that's how it's been reported everywhere...you should check active case will is differ from confirmed cases..

Holy shit.....

If it's COVID19 that will format and reset this country to normal by killing hundreds of thousands of Nigerians, then it's a welcome development.

I mean massive deaths. Such that dead bodies would be everywhere and there won't be space to bury all.

What if all your love ones will be among the 1000s?

It's time to boost our immunity.
Blend fresh ginger (2 pieces) and fresh garlic (a hand ful) and squeeze the juice in the lime into the blender. (2 limes) and add a little water and blend.
Remove the paste from the blender and refrigerate.
Take 2 spoons of this paste and mix it into a cup of hot water. Allow to cool Abit and drink.
Take this mixture, once a day for a week and boost your immunity. Please let's take this mixture, even if you doubt it, garlic and ginger doesn't kill any one. @seun smiley
Eat fresh carrots too.
Please let's boost our immunity, no virus can survive this.
Thank me later!!
Ginger and garlic work wonders!! smiley

You guys don't know how this thing is calculated...

Total Confirmed Cases = Active Cases + Discharged Cases + Deaths.

Welcome to the Nigerian corona virus premier league with so much inconsistencies.

How can Lagos with no single case on Monday suddenly have 59 on Tuesday. Does that mean no test was carried out on Monday.

The Benue index case has been running for about a month now.

Enugu said it discharged it's 2 cases and Akwa Ibom 3 c7ases last week but the NCDC league table says otherwise.

Kano has maintained it's grip on the top 4 position.

Last week the NCDC boss said all States will surely have this corona virus cases.

Great people, I need your thoughts on all these.

They (Lagos) didn't test as they ran out of testing kit but it wasn't made public as my cousin that works in a hospital that was closed due to a confirmed case wasn't tested on Monday till yesterday.

the earlier we stay at home the faster the infected number and with quick alacrity lockdown will be lifted.

if you see the way people dry walk up and down in my area, you go wonder.

God save your people

They are not scammers. That’s why u have total number discharged and active cases. NCDC cannot remove the number discharged from the reported case to avoid any mistake in knowing the total confirmed cases Nigeria had during and after the pandemic.

An average Nigeria doesn't think about rainy days. May be, just may be lack of proper education like someone said above is making us not to heed to the warning or advice by WHO and government. The only way other country is handling it is by curtailing the spread and then treat the infected once for now. If you don't cherish your life, think about the medical workers and others. As for food, if we were educated enough, we would have planned for rainy days.

Always hope for the best but expect the worst.

Please, can you explain how an unemployed graduate can save for the rainy days? The Government has been failing us since the creation of this country, we're in this mess because of our Bad Government and it has turn most of us to a beast. Nigeria is a fail nation led by Greedy individuals which is as a result of previous failed Governing. If this persist till the middle of this year then, Anarchy is inevitable.

manuelreports:

You are far from information
Today USA have a new a 27,000 new cases
The world will be locked down in the next 6 months while that of Nigeria may reach 8 months. (Praying for God's intervention) anything that will make any country open up now, it will be disaster, considering the rate at which the disease is spreading. The worst here is that they are not testing enough people, a lot of people already have the disease but are moving around unknowingly spreading the disease.

The truth is bitter. Many do not want to accept the obvious reality. Yesterday Greece reported testing some of its immigrants only to find 138 testing positive but were asymptomatic. If they were not tested how could they have known since they did not report feeling sick or ill? That is why serious nations who want to really eliminate this virus are aggressive in their testing. TRACE, TEST, TREAT. That is the formula, it is immaterial whether or not you believe it is real, scam bla bla bla.

Whoever says the virus spread is dwindling worldwide is perhaps only fixated on his unreliable news source. Figures are galloping all over the world. Some of the figures we saw yesterday in Nigeria were likely the results of tests carried out a few days ago. When many were saying that Lagos is clean because Lagos figures were not included in Mondays figures I just......... It does not work that way.

Have you been watching Russia, Brazil, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Peru, Qatar, Bangladesh, even South Africa, Belarus, India? Japan has to declare a second Emergency. WHO yesterday told the world to brace up for the real spread unless the nations become really aggressively serious about fighting this scourge.

Lockdown is nothing without aggressive, focused CONTACT TRACING AND TESTING. Why are we surprised at these figures coming from Nigeria. The health ministry announced a few weeks ago that about 6,000 persons are being traced to be tested. And these persons have been on the loose, some in probably at private hospitals receiving treatment, some self-medicating at home, etc. So what is 800 to 6,000, and meanwhile that 6,000 is not even static, as they mingle with the populace, it continues to spread. This is the reality staring us in the face.

We will overcome if we come clean in our collective effort to really fight this disease. Continuous lockdown will not do any magic. And indeed how long can Nigeria lockdown it's fragile economy in the face of a drastically fallen oil price? And with a population, 70% of which operates in it's informal sector of the economy? It is not sustenable.

At this stage rulers in Nigeria have to sit down and brainstorm on how to open the economy while aggressively pursuing pragmatic solutions on how the populace can operate in the face of this scourge, lest we will find ourselves battling two ferocious enemies: coronavirus and hunger virus.

Much of Africa is entering the raining season which is a convenient weather for a virus of this sort to fester.

It's not a scam. What NCDC is reporting is the number of confirmed cases and not active cases, that is those that have ever been infected with the virus including those that are still actively infected and those that have been discharged on a state-by-state basis.
