Wasn't this exactly the kind of course Sanusi was pursuing?
Though he could be controversial at times, this was the truth he was telling the Northern leaders which was pill too bitter for them to swallow. It shouldn't take national emergencies like corona for our leaders to use their brain and do the needful.

Lol I personally think Sanusi's vision on the ban of almajiri is related to him getting politically dethroned as emir in order for him to be installed as president while he leads the transformation of almajiri system into something more western and civilized.

I don't think Emir Sanusi would have been dethroned,if he had restricted himself to voicing out his opinions on sensitive issues like the almajiri, illiteracy and poverty in the north alone, but he was also accused of being surreptitiously involved in partisan politics, which almost cost Gov.Abdullahi Ganduje his 2nd term re-election.

Don't spew conspiratorial Unconfirmed stories that rob you from enjoying the moment when those who are proud of almajiri systems now have their brain reset to default after hating those who pointed to the danger posed earlier.. If sanusi eventually becomes a President since the North have the population advantage, its better because he is well educated more informed and has a good interaction with character But for now Convd 19 already set the northern Govs brains thanks

True. How much they are able to loot for themselves cannot stop being their priorities unless by some kind of miracle they change.

This is one of the truths that put Sanusi into problem. If Northerners don't kill hypocracy it will kill them soon than imagine.
Goodluck Jonathan derserves a standing ovation by the Northern Governors, leaders, traditional rulers, emirs, sultan etc because he was on a mission to salvage their short sightedness in building schools and changing the lives of those alamajiri but the northern leaders and Sunusi inclusive as at then withstood his Vision and Mission but today thank God the reality is Dawn on them as GEJ forever will be remembered for.

This is one of the best decision taken by Northern Governors Forum. This will go in a long way to help fight against terrorism and bandits we are experiencing today in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, former President GEJ wanted to eradicate almajiris system by replacing it with schools but,the northerners kicked against it.Thinking he wanted to use it shorten their population during elections.

Anyway it's a welcome development.

Is this even an issue for them to deliberate on that they're insisting? Isn't it what Sanusi have been trying to make them understand?

Evil people are ruling the North. This Almajiri made them to fight GEJ, same reason they dethroned Sanusi. Now they want to ban it. These people are evil. You can quote me!!!!

Don not be deceived, Sanusi was a big time hypocrite. He did nothing, only speaking fake grammer. The only person that was sincere about ending Almajiri problem in words and deeds was Ganduje Ganduje married only one wive and has been a champion on the campaign to end Almajiri system, Sanusi on the other hand did nothing for the almajiri.

SouthNigerian:
I believe there are 2 fractions of Leaders in the North.

(i) Leaders who wants almajiri to remain so as to keep exploiting & manipulating the system their personal gain.
(ii) Leaders who desire to abolish the almajiri system, paving way for a great Northern Nigeria.

The end of Almajiri in the North marks the start of a new Northern Nigeria.
I believe you are correct, and would expand the two groups to:

(i) Leaders who want Nigerians to remain in "poverty, illiteracy, insecurity and social disorder" so as to keep exploiting & manipulating the system for their personal gain.

(ii) Leaders who desire to abolish the system, paving way for a great Nigeria.

SMH, you guys don't understand.

This is a ploy to get funds from FG exclusively for the North.

When they get the funds, they will do gra-gra and pocket the funds and dole some to their parents.

Can't you see that All funds now goes to North since oil prices fell?

It's very simple. Quranic education is easy. Let ur children go to school in the morning and go to Islamiya in the evening, then return to your house by 6pm.

If it's boarding school, there must be boarding facilities and agreed school fees to cater for the upkeep of the children.
Nothing like roaming around the street.
