They are only interested in caging the oil sector for themselves otherwise this could have been actualized long time ago for the able Citizens to participate. Very selfish people or slowpoke managing the economy and taking weird decisions.

We knew it was coming.

Boost your local refining capacity...they would not.
We could have been selling refined products all over West Africa. Crude oil alone can produce up to 64 different products. Even polypropylene, the material used in making face mask filters that are now in great demand all over the world, is a by product of the refining process.

I have never seen a country filled with fools and dullards from top to bottom.

Los Angeles experienced rapid development from the discovery of oil now It the city with the third Highest Gdp In the world right behind New York and Tokyo. Dubai also had some little oil deposits which they knew would b depleted soon so dey developed Dubai to be diversified from oil .The point is dat upon the discovery of oil these cities grew rapidly but since the discovery Of oil in 1956 the Niger delta area has not experienced any development what so ever because most of the money had been diverted away due to corruption and other reasons, why must our case b different wit all the money coming from the region the government could not see any reason to develope the area which shows the poor level of governorship we hav in dis country, our leaders only care about looting public funds for their pockets thats why most Nigerians are keen of leaving the country

I hope it does not get to that. But what is the contingency plan in any that the government will embark on if petrol dollars stop.

I pray it gets to that!
It MUST happen by God's grace.
Injustice in Nigeria is just too much.

I pity Dangote and his refinery.

Have it at the back of your mind, refinery is different from exploration and production oil company.

Refinery can never be at a loss.

Pity? Dangote is not a producer of oil. If he can store he will be buying now at rock bottom prices. If the refinery come online to coincide with the economy rebound post corona virus he will make a killing.
Then conspiracy theories will say he was among the people that engineer the virus

But he secured a oil block from Shell. But he won't be affected much because he probably isn't producing oil now.

which country do you want to export agric produce to Europe and America are self sufficient in food.

so tell me how you want to earn from it[/quote if we are not able to export it, then we become self-sufficient in agricultural products that's going to save us lots of money and create jobs

Oil is going down to $0. The end is coming to the problems of Nigeria. Oil is what the devil sent to ruin Nigeria. Once Oil sales end, Nigeria will be forced back to Agriculture and Solid Minerals.

Then we shall see whether Farmers will toil the Soil, plant Crops, nurture the Crops, then Harvest it, sell the Harvests and go and give the money to useless government and politicians to share and loot.

Very soon, nobody will contest for any elective posts again when there is no money to share and loot.

Oil is already below zero, it is negative now

No please continue.Guess Nigerian leaders refused to divert to non-oil economy for long? The oil must become useless then it will then be to your tents all man.

You are wrong.
How did it benefits you when it was $120;$80;$60-40.now$10 ?
• How many infrastructural developments did your State or Area got?
•What sacrificed did your leaders Governor s-State,National Assembly Members made; for instance, reduction of Salary and Allowances benefits to make rooms for Millions of Youth who are unemployed?
•Dubai was once a desert, yet they employed the best brain all over the world, tap their intellectuals, made a great city where your leaders from Nigeria and other parts of the world go to waste out hard-earned dollars.
The unborn generations may not forgive our leaders,if at 21st Century Nigerians can't boast of 24/7 light that is a sine-quan-none for major Industrial development.Too shameful and unpatriotic elements.
