Mamuzo Ijala, a newly confirmed coronavirus patient on Thursday morning alleged maltreatment and victimization at the isolation centre in Warri.


Speaking on a long telephone conversation that was recorded, the 36yrs old victim pleaded with the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to come to her rescue as she bemoaned the maltreatment meted on her after she was declared positive and whisked away from her home.

According to her, she had a strong cough that defied preliminary treatment and when she presented herself at the Otor Udu General Hospital, she was asked to go for an X-ray and was diagnosed of pneumonia.

Speaking further, she narrated how she was referred to the General Hospital, Warri where nurses and doctors scampered for safety and refused to treat her after taking her samples to test for coronavirus.

“They later came with an ambulance and told me that my result is positive but have refused to show me the result.” she said
