Bundesliga Ready To Return On May 9 - If German Government Approves by Ababbio: 4:48pm On Apr 23, 2020
Bundesliga's officials said the league which has been suspended since mid-March due to the corona virus outbreak might resume on May 9, with government approval, sky sport reports.

The Bundesliga chief executive, Christian Seifert, who disclosed this, said it would be impolite for him to give league exact date of resumption because it is dependent on the government and all federal States' approval.

The corona virus disease was said to have reached Germany, on January 27, 2020, and has infected more than 148,000 and killed over 5,000 people in Germany.

According to Seifer finishing the 2019-20 season remains Germany priority, if not the Bundesliga would be a collateral damage to the coronavirus crisis.

"If we should start on May 9, we are ready. If it is later we will be ready again. We can only offer the framework conditions" he said.

As a a matter of varrification Bundesliga is partnering with five laboratories to ensure adequate testing for corona virus.

The 7.5 million euro solidarity fund donated by Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen will go to the third division and women's Bundesliga.

Regional leaders in Bavaria and North-Rhine Westphalia said this week it was possible for the league to resume without spectators after May 9 and under strict health and safety conditions.

The league had earlier warned that clubs in the first and second divisions might face financial difficulties in the nearest future should the season fail to resume by June.

In agreement with Germany's leaders, many shops which have been lockdown for weeks have resume for business this week.

Played behind closed doors or not... none of my business.

Football in any form in this boringly sad times is always gonna be a welcome development.

Having said that... please, bring on the GBL. At least, that should suffice until the EPL returns to fill up the void completely.
