The COVID-19 Lock Down Must Be Called Off Or These 7 Negative Things Would Happe by Afrikahene: 2:05pm On Apr 24, 2020
The Nigerian government would be making a very serious mistake by extending the lockdown over the coronavirus because the effects would be devastating on the government, nation and people. Already, the 36 governors of the 36 states of Nigeria have already met on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 to 'unanimously' agree to extend the already hurting lock down for the next two weeks, but never have they had a meeting to discuss how to cater for all Nigerians in the next two weeks.

Here are the 7 things that are going to happen if the lockdown continues indefinitely as it seems to:

1. Mass Hunger

Already, people are starting in the country because of the lockdown, and this is going to worsen if the lockdown continues. There have been news of people begging, news of someone who collapsed and died while working in a building site out of hungerr, Pulse Nigeria once shared a video of a man who collapsed and almost died of hunger before regaining strength after being fed

Many other cases of hunger and starvation which are not being reported could possibly be taking place even now. Many people all over Nigeria are in their homes looking at their last cups of rice without any money or foodstuff or help anywhere, they are going to eat and wait to die because they cannot go out and earn money and no palliative has been received so far from the government whereas rich nations of the world have released hundreds of thousands of naira to each and every one of their affected citizens.

We are joining nations like Canada and US to lockdown but not joining them to release money to all affected persons. Canada

is already paying unemployed citizens C$2,000 per month for the next 4 months to relieve them of the effects of the lock down; US has released US$1,200 and $500 per child.

2. Mass Begging

You have already seen thousands of people dripping their accounts online for funds, even myself once dropped mine, it is about to go off the hook. The mass starvation courtesy of this lock down would worsen and reach to a point where every rich person would be besieged by hordes of hungry Nigerians who need essentials from them. The celebrities are already facing the heat, popular actor, Yul Edochie has already begged Nigerians to stop inundating his inbox with their account numbers begging for funds, according to him, "3 weeks nothing don enter, no work. Na for film I dey do money ritual, it's not real. I dey wait for alert from Federal Govt. e don red everywhere"
