NCDC DG, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu hints at extension of shutdown by another 2 weeks As Labour warns FG against using Pension Funds as Palliatives "We won’t touch it", SGF assures 5, 000 health workers get Life Insurance Cover.

By Omeiza Ajayi.
Barely two days to the end of the second round of a 14-day shutdown of the nation’s capital, Abuja as well as Lagos and Ogun states, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control NCDC has hinted at the likelihood of the extension of the current lockdown, saying Nigeria has not gotten to the point where its containment protocols could be relaxed.
This was even as the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC warned the federal government against deploying the Contributory Pension Fund as Palliatives in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus.
On its part, the Federal Government which promised not to touch the pension fund announced that Nigeria’s insurance industry has offered life insurance to 5, 000 health workers who are in the front line of the fight against Covid-19.
These were some of the disclosures made yesterday in Abuja at the daily briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19.

I saw it coming

With the increase in cases and low rate of testing, it is the safest measure to take to contain the spread of the virus in the country.

But lockdown is not the issue.

How will the masses survive?

As it is now, most of the population is already staring hunger in the face, and with the way things are going, we will remain in lockdown for another month (or more).

That means

the police will keep killing innocent citizens and disgracing themselves and the country.

The rate of crime will keep increasing

Nigerians will keep flouting the social distancing rule while the number of cases will keep increasing.

The summary is that

If the west don't come up with a solution soon,

WE ARE FINISHED

NCDC DG, I don't blame your stupidity at all. You can talk of extension of lockdown for even a year because you are working and earning your salary every month right?
Even the president knows that any stupid attempt to extend this useless lockdown will lead to mass protest. It has started in US already, expect same soon in Nigeria and I can assure you that the military won't do shit.

This lockdown is leading us somewhere....

Federal government:

* we are going to credit Nigerians with 20k each
* Nigerians will not pay electricity bill for 2months
*custom should share impounded rice to citizens
*April salary should be paid without delay
*feeding of school children continues despite the lockdown
*loan for small scale businesses affected by the lockdown . Etc

He is not feeling any pain like the poor Nigerians, who feed from their daily sales na.
Why won't he tell them to extend it to April next year, when he must have gotten his share in the billions donated, his salary comes steady too.
So tell me why he and his likes should worry about the lockdown I remembered when that fake Albino health minister said they were fully ready to tackle coronavirus..
Only God knowns if that one is not a carrier of the virus already.... The only sense our leaders have, is the one on how to steal public funds.. Ecowas heard of the billions donated, they kuku went to appoint Baba Go Slow ,who can't even take care of his country,to come handle Africa on coviki one nine issuesgrin African Leaders are very funny .Joke of the year award should go to..#EcowasComedyHouse#

Keep waiting for west. Your lord and saviour.
Don't go and assemble your own scientists and come up with a solution like Mauritius.
