The Motorola Edge+ happens to be Motorola's flagship for this year, the OnePlus 8 Pro also is OnePlus's flagship for this year, Do I guess it's a flagship battle. The Motorola Edge+ was launched on some days back and the OnePlus 8 Pro was released globally some days back also. This two phones are super amazing with all the specs they pack. Today we'll be having a comparison between the Motorola Edge+ and the OnePlus 8 Pro.
Display and Build
The Motorola Edge+ has a 6.7-inch FHD+ 'Endless Edge' curved OLED display while the OnePlus 8 Pro has a 6.78-inch QHD curved Fluid AMOLED display. The Moto Edge+ has 95·8% screen to body ratio, 19·5:9 aspect ratio, 385ppi density while the OnePlus 8 Pro has 90·8% screen to body ratio and 513 ppi density.
Talking about the refresh rate, we have a 90Hz panel on the Motorola Edge+ while OnePlus 8 Pro has a 120Hz panel.
The both phones have support for HDR10+.
Coming to build, the Moto Edge+ has the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, an aluminum frame and a glass back while the OnePlus 8 Pro has Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and back and an aluminum frame.
The Motorola Edge+ is splash resistant and no IP rating while the OnePlus 8 Pro is IP68 water and dust resistant.
Processor and Memory
The Motorola Edge+ and OnePlus 8 Pro are powered by an octa-core 7nm+ Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and Adreno 650 GPU for gaming and graphics. The Moto Edge+ is coupled with a massive 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage(UFS 3·0) while the OnePlus 8 Pro is coupled with 8/12GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage (UFS 3·0) There is no micro SD card slot for expanding the storage on both phones.
Camera
The Motorola Edge+ has a quad rear camera setup with 108MP(wide) + 16MP(ultrawide) + 8MP(telephoto) + a TOF 3D(depth) sensors and can record 6K(3240p) at 30fps while OnePlus 8 Pro has a quad rear camera setup with 48MP(wide) + 48MP(ultrawide) + 8MP(telephoto) + 5MP(depth) and can record 4K UHD at 60 fps.
On the front, Moto Edge+ has a 25MP punch hole selfie camera while OnePlus 8 Pro has a 16MP punch hole selfie camera.
Network and Connectivity
The Motorola Edge+ and OnePlus 8 Pro have both 5G and 4G LTE network in it for downloading and surfing the web. Moto Edge+ has the following LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 46, 66, 71 while OnePlus 8 Pro has the following LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 32, 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 46, 66.
They both come with Bluetooth 5·1, WiFi 6, GPS, NFC, WiFi Direct and Hotspot.
Battery and Charging
The Motorola Edge+ is backed by a non removable Li-Po 5000mAh battery while OnePlus 8 Pro is backed by a non removable Li-Po 4510 mAh battery.
Talking about charging, Moto Edge+ supports 18W fast wired charging via the USB type C port, 15W fast wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging while OnePlus 8 Pro supports 30W fast wired charging via the USB type C port, 30W fast wireless charging and 3W reverse wireless charging.
Software
The Motorola Edge+ runs on the latest stock Android 10 OS while OnePlus 8 Pro runs on Oxygen OS 10.0 based on Android 10.
Price
The Motorola Edge+ will retail for €1199 while OnePlus 8 Pro retails at $999 for the 12/256 GB variant.
Others
Motorola Edge+ and OnePlus 8 Pro both have an optical in display fingerprint sensor. The Motorola Edge+ retains the 3·5 mm headphone jack which is absent on OnePlus 8 Pro.
