well from wat i read in the papers, apparently these banks retrenched their workers and cut them off without any benefits,so organized labour threatened to shut them down or shud i say picket them by tuesday,if the issue isn't resolved,in the meantime customers ave been advised to withdraw their funds before then,as there is no way of knowing how long theyll be shutdown

Its better not to withdraw your money because the Cbn said it again last Friday that those banks have no problem of liquidation and you dont know what would happen to those sound banks this year.

How can a union close down a bank? Did they give them the licience in the first place? These staff were retrenched for fraudulent activities like the case of oceanic bank. Why didn't they picket during the mass retrenchment in dec 2009? All these inconsistencies on the part of these unions self.

It is better to heed to the advice of the people
than to remain adamant about the shutdown
of the involved banks.
If you have any amount in them, go and withdraw
it before it is too late for you
I don yarn my own oooooooooooo
