COVID-19: FCT Palliatives carefully packaged without stones and fairly distributed says, Monitoring group

Following the distribution of palliatives to the vulnerable residents as a result of the pandemic disease which led to total lockdown as directed by the Federal government.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Covid-19 Task Force led Honourable Minister for State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has been in front line ensuring that the residents of FCT irrespective of tribes, religion and political affiliation feels the positive impact of the government in line with the Covid-19 program such as disinfectant of the environment, sensitization on covid-19 and the ongoing distribution of palliatives targeted to hit all the Six (6) Area Councils in a bid to cushion the pressure.

It is inline with this, that the popular evaluation and monitoring group in Nigeria known as, Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) has condemned the unpatriotic statements and video about a contaminated rice in a customized bag released by some jobless people with the bad intention to discredit the good efforts of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and to damage the reputation of Alhaji Muhammad Musa Bello the Honorable Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) regards to Covid-19 palliatives program.

The group in a statement released in Abuja on Monday 27th April 2020 by its Director General, Comrade Obinna Nwaka, maintained that the food stuff were carefully packaged without sand or stones while describing the perpetuators of such act as hungry disgruntled elements who are also enemies of good governance only bent on disabusing the minds of people and tarnishing the good image of high public office holders using fake news and propagandas.

The CYMS urged the beneficiaries, general public especially the FCT residents to disregard the purported news and focus more on how to be part of the program while urging them to also pay attention to the NCDC medical advise and adhere strictly to the instructions of Federal government.

The CYMS's Director General, Mr Obinna Nwaka finally commended Mrs Ramatu Tijjani for ensuring prompt distribution of palliatives done in a unified, equity and justice manner where all leaders of interest groups such as religious, major political parties, youth, women leaders etc are inclusive.

News gathered that CYMS has an organizational structure and members cut across all the 774 LGAs in Nigeria.
