The sad news that greeted us this morning about Vixen(RIP).
Some questioned the probability of such happening. Let me clear your doubts.

I want us to know this isn't the first time someone dies by this though experts say the likelihood of someone being electrocuted by a smartphone, even while the device is charging, is very, very low, but it's just like lightning striking someone, it's rare but possible.

Some things that may have caused this include:

1. Using cheap or counterfeit chargers.
'Most' chargers out there don't even meet the safety requirement, these chargers can be lethal due to really stupid design decisions or in a bid to cut-cost. Some of these chargers don't have proper insulation, potentially exposing users to overheating, fire or electric shock.

According to a study from the Chartered Trading Standards Institute in the UK, a whopping 98% of all fake Apple chargers failed basic safety tests. After performing several tests, it was found that only three of the 400 devices tested had enough isolation to prevent an electric shock. Go for trusted devices from trusted companies/people.

2. Also, electrical shocks involving consumer electronics often have nothing to do with the devices themselves. Instead, they can be caused by overloaded power outlets, frayed extension cords or faulty wiring in a home, experts say.

3. Touching both prongs on the wall side when you plug the charger in.

In conclusion it is rare but possible.
Did she die by electrocution? I can't say, I wasn't there.
Above all, I know we may be carefree about some things even me, but you should be a bit careful. Thanks.

As recommended, an autopsy will go a long way in not only finding out the real cause of her death but also in educating us.

May God give enough strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

I just hope it isn't verbal autopsy.

May God give enough strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
