With the current situation in this country. I pray we survive this pandemic, the explosion will be brutal if lockdown is restored. Close border, Baba said we are on top of the situation. I'm just scared of these leaders we have here.

Within last 24 hours, Ghana recorded 400 more covid cases. The number is increasing. They also relax there lockdown and now it's bitting hard.

Most of the things we hear or read online about this virus in Nigeria are difficult to believe without doubt.

Very very difficult. And if something is hard to believe, then hardly it contains the truth.

Carryout mass tests, they say know. Okay now.

Lockdown means nothing without testing, isolating and treating infected ones.

I don't think South East states are testing enough.
No test is going on here in Rivers state, .
Instead of these SE and SS E-warriors on Nairaland to ask for massive testing in the states, they are busy talking about Kano,

shocked

How much space do they have to isolate 377 people? And work is set to resume on Monday The situation is beyond Nigeria as they are more confused as ever. They are still in the middle of the crises and planning to relax the lockdown. Like seriously, are they sure about this?

The reason is very simple, they're incapable of feeding the residents or citizens as the case may be. This is the result of years of mindless stealing and looting. Every country is providing for her citizens but Nigeria government couldn't afford it. Shame

That's the height of irresponsibility on their part. Not even a fraction of the citizens were they able to cater for yet they are feeling exhausted and they want us to believe we have a country? And still be faithful and loyal to them? God will judge them all for siphoning the wealth meant for everyone to themselves alone.

Only a dreamer will believe that COVID-19 is not in every Nigerian state. In fact, it is in every nook and cranny of Nigeria. 50% of people infected with this virus will not experience a symptom, and most of the remainder will experience mild symptoms (similar to malaria and typhoid). Just a small number will experience severe symptoms of breathlessness, palpitations(cardiac issues) , kidney dysfunction etc. This small group is where most of the death toll emerges from. Therefore, many presentations to hospitals and chemists for malaria treatment are COVID-19 cases. Some will go ahead to die without being tested, so their deaths are not attributed to COVID-19. One could argue that since only a small number will die, why not open the country for business. This small number are people’s loved ones. There is no telling who will react badly or mildly or not all. Also studies are now revealing that many people who recovered from this virus are now experiencing chronic health issues secondary to this infection. This is not a burden that the almost non-existent health sector in the country can manage.

To stay safe in these times, best to treat everyone as a possible carrier. To keep others safe, assume you could also be a carrier and mask up, maintain social distancing and good hand hygiene.

I’m not fear mongering, but until a vaccine is found it’s going to be a hide and seek game with this virus.

Until Nigerians accept the prevalence of this virus in the country and take steps to protect themselves, the infection will rage on. Expect the number of new infections to get to thousands daily in the coming weeks.

This fight is at an individual level. Government cannot do this for anyone. Only the living will eat, go to a church building( you are the church and God is omnipresent), school and work.

The only thing that the government owes the people is to ramp up testing or permit private labs to begin testing, and provide isolation centres with adequate PPE supply. All positive cases isolated and managed.
