Armed gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked Ntireku community, leaving 4 people dead and 2 others injured.

Ntireku is a village in Kamaru District of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The village is located near the boundary with Plateau State, a 20 minutes drive from Kwall District (a community that was attacked on 14/4/2020 in Bassa LGA of Plateau State). 90% of the people in Ntireku are Irigwe, they are people originally from Kwall.

According to the report,the attackers arrived the village and started burning houses and other properties as they shot sporadically, killing 3 women in the process. The villagers ran for their lives but one person, a man, while attempting to escape from the attackers died due to cardiac arrest.

Eyewitness account also said that quick intervention of people from neighbouring communities prevented the attackers from causing more havoc in the community. The villagers narrated that one of the attackers was killed during the intervention, his body was found after the attackers were repelled.
