We the 17NA regular course of the Nigerian army writes again in tears and pains in our heart to Nigerians reminding them about the existence of the forgotten intake in the battlefield (17NA /76), we remain the only intake in the history of Nigerian army that has no unit or cores in the military, ever since our passing out parade since 2017 we where deployed straight to the battle field without proper postings as personnel's, we don't know the offense or crime we have committed to suffer such malice.

My question to the COAS is as follows: is it in the ethics of the military as a soldier to serve the military without core or units?, to the best of my knowledge the answer I NO, then why are we the 17NA regular course not been posted to core or units?.
Since 2017 we passed out we have known no peace, all we see is nights full of pains n tears, we are not grumbling cause we signed in our dear lives to serve and protect the Nation just exactly as we have been doing, but our request is that we should be treated equally like other soldiers, let's be posted to the different cores and units in the military.

We have lost 70% of our course mates to these fight of insurgence, my second question to COAS is our we all going to loose our lives before calling for our withdrawal?.
Same DEPOT NA every other soldier trained and passed out is still the same institution we also passed out from, let's be treated equally like other intakes too.

And also my 3 question to the COAS is if NE operation was to be a foreign operation would u have taking us from DEPOT directly to UN operation?, the answer is NO, reason being they in hard currency.

by then they will remember that we are young soldiers, that w havee no battle orientation or awareness, but here is internal security operation (IS) they gladly deployed in to fight the boko haram knowing fully well that we have got no battle awareness, and in that case we have lost more 65% of our course mates, one of the ethics of the military is that a soldier must serve in a unit up to 5 years before being deployed to a battle ground, but in our time all these military policies where been violated, if it where to be a UN operation I bet you Nigerians no 17NA will be permitted to go reason being we are not dew, but to the fight of boko haram 17NA is dew .we are not begging the COAS for one step ahead or battle medals which we are entitled to, we only beg that we should be posted to core and units like all other soldiers. Pls my Nigerians help us to put up smiles on our faces again we that are still alive, we have cried severally to them, but they turned there backs on us, we are also brothers, uncles, friends, and husbands to so many of you Nigerians.

Why are all protocols abandoned in the posting of these set of the Nigerian Army?

I mean this guys were sent to the front directly from training - world over this is not how things are done!

now they are not even asking for deployment - THEY ARE JUST FUKING ASKING TO BE GIVING THE HONOR AND RECOGNITION THAT IS THE RIGHT OF EVERY NIGERIAN SOLDIER! HABA!

for once this country should be fair to its citizens!

the COAS SHOULD PLS LISTEN TO THESE BOYS CRIES AND DO THE NEEDFUL FAST!

BESIDES, FIGHTING IN THE FRONT FOR FOUR (4) YEARS THESE GUYS DESERVE SOME BREAK - THEY HONESTLY NEED TO SEE THEIR FAMILIES AND RELATIONS! HABA NA!

THESE HEROES SHOULD BE GIVING THEIR HEROIC ENTITLEMENT NOW!

THEY NEED IT ALIVE AND NOT POSTHUMOUSLY!

Seun and lalasticlala pls this topic should not be hidden - everything shouldn't be about fear of what will happen if they see it on Nairaland!

Pls send this topic to the front page! these guys deserve to be heard - for heaven sake we are talking about out heroes here biko!

Is it ARMY you guys can do with your lives.

It's obvious no protocol is obeyed in this fight against insurgents while the big Ogas are having fat cheques.

NAIRALAND SHOULD PLEASE BE THE VOICE OF THE VOICELESS AND TAKE THIS TOPIC TO THE FRONT PAGE LET OTHER NIGERIANS JOIN THEIR VOICES AND CALL ON OUR COAS TO PLS ACCORD THESE HEROES THEIR FULL RIGHTS ENTITLEMENT!

they are not asking for too much! they are just asking to be treated like others!

Igbo proverb says when you treat a child nicely like you treated others his heart will be merry!

Nigerian Army should pls give these boys all their rightful entitlements.

You can all see the kind of Agbero Army the Buhari govt is running? How can you deploy soldiers without first giving them a Corp or unit to identify with ? And worse still deploy them straight from the depot to an active theatre and place them in the hands of also poorly trained learner short service officer to fight Boko haram

I am just wondering if it's possible for a soldier not to belong to a unit, or is it that we are not getting what the OP is trying to communicate?

Abi we don get floating soldiers again in the NA?

A soldier will definitely belong to a division, brigade or specialised fighting unit.

You cant claim to be floating. How are orders dished to you? How is your fighting coordinated if you claim you dont belong to any unit.

I think the reality is that you have been drafted to a unit. Maybe it is periodic troop rotation from the front that is rightly the issue.

Also, I dont think it is right to draft full complement of recruits to the front. They should be made to face battles in batches, integrated with experienced battle hardened soldiers.
