In compliance with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari, that the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) liaise with the Economic Sustainability Committee (ESC), the PEAC, on Thursday, met with Prof. Yemi Osinbajo's led ESC to draw out Sustainability plan. This, however, is part of ongoing engagements to develop strategy for post COVID-19 Nigeria

VP Osinbajo, on Thursday, after the meeting, said on his twitter handle that plans have been finalized.

"The ESC today engaged with the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee on the Sustainability Plan.

"The goals are to stimulate local production, save jobs, create new ones where possible, and continue to protect the most vulnerable and the working poor.", he tweeted.

In the same vein, the Spokeman to the Vice-President, Mr. Laolu Akande,on Thursday, said that part of the work of the Economic Sustainability Committee chaired by VP Osinbajo, members of Economic Advisory Council were invited to a meeting for their inputs into the Committee's forthcoming report to the President.

The statement reads in part:

"The goals of the report-the Sustainability Plan include to stimulate significant local production, save jobs, create new ones & also protect the most vulnerable and the working poor. It's about turning the current challenges into great opportunities for Nigerians & Nigeria in line with Mr. President's vision.

"Besides members of the ESC & PEAC, several ministers were also part of the videoconference anchored from the Presidential Villa.

"ESC's engagement with the PEAC creates synergy & effective coordination as Nigeria confronts what is clearly a serious economic situation." He added.

I applaud the corporation between the ESC and the economic advisory commitee. To save jobs and create new ones is very commendable and it will surely help our economy at this pandemic period.

"The goals of the report-the Sustainability Plan include to stimulate significant local production of gaari, save government jobs, create new criminals & also oppress the most vulnerable and the working poor. It's about turning the current challenges into great opportunities for politicians and their croonies to make money in line with our vision.

This is the way to go. It is our prayers that the country is not hit with massive impact of Covid-19 economically. We know our VP will make things work for a better healthier tomorrow.
It is understandable that things are hard in this trying times, we must look inward to tap from our non oil sectors both agric and natural resources which we are blessed with to make our economy sustainable in working towards economic recovery growth.

Some people were actually created to stress, suffer and be enslaved by dullards who'll always take the glory for their efforts.

Osibanjo is one of them.

A very comprehensive plan that has been painstakingly drafted. Can't wait for the implementation to begin.

Truth is that Nigeria needs a revolution from inside then outwards. Will be tricky because of the catch 22 scenario of how the urge may now be there to finally reform the nation sincerely but the cash to do this is not available.

Truth is that this would be the time, if possible, to position adequate power supply at the base of any effort to recreate Nigeria.

This will impact positively on manufacturing and the growth of the SME (small to medium enterprise sector) that will naturally and sustainably create jobs as the Government is seeking to do.

Long and short of issues is that we must liberalise, totally and without rhetorical insincerity, the ability of States to have full autonomy over any natural resource they can mine or refine commercially in partnership with investors. The template should be full liberalisation of the wealth-creating ability of Nigeria at all levels.

Not sure this can be achieved under the leadership of a Northern Government as, even in the face of existential danger, they will still remain conservative and centrist with a fear of devolving power that will enable every man, state and region to grow at their own pace.

Let us hope they are not just paying lip service as has been done by one government after another in the history of Nigeria.

Bad as it is, I find myself thinking covid-19 should remain, without the deaths, hovering over Nigeria like a drill Sargeant to ensure our leaders continue to do what they were unprepared to do for decades till we are solidly on course to becoming a developed nation.

His legacy is disgraceful. This pastor allowed himself to be used by the demonic elite. I hope he sleeps well at night. Pastor, in name only, he has not displayed any Christ-like behaviour and is not shinning a light at the darkness that is Nigerian politics.

Some people will fail to see the qualities the Prof. posses due to hatred and guile passed from generation to generation.
