The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday night announced that Nigeria recorded 238 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 2170.

The centre gave this update via it verified Twitter page, where it stated that 238 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on May 1, 2020. The result surpassed the one recorded a day before with 34 cases, making it the highest number of confirmed cases reported so far since the index case hits the country.

Wasn't it in Kano people were running ignoring the social distancing rules to get to the markets to store up for Ramadan?
