CONSTITUTIONAL FORCE MAJEURE IS A MUST IN FINAL TAKEDOWN OF UNITARY NIGERIA – MNN/LNC Bulletin

The Covid 19 infection manifests its lethality in victims with an already preexisting medical condition. What applies to individual patients also is the case with countries. Even economies that are in relatively good health, like China and the US, have taken serious beating and pummeling since the Covid-19-inspired economic shutdown. These economies are anticipated to recover fully to what they used to be before the coronavirus pandemic.

Nigeria is a country with a preexisting condition called the Dutch disease. Dutch disease refers to the problems associated with a rapid increase in the production of raw materials (like oil and gas) causing a decline in other sectors of the economy. When the raw materials run out, the economy can be in a worse position than before. In the case of Nigeria, crude oil and natural gas deposits still exist. But those who used to pay top currency for the Nigerian Bonny Light have no need for fossil fuels which are now being sourced in abundance from shale geologic formations in many parts of the world. It is on top of the preexisting Dutch disease that the deadly Covid-19 pandemic struck. Nigeria is presently dazed, confused and miserably broke, with no relief in sight.

This is the ideal opportunity for whoever are enslaved in the Lugardian plantation of today’s Unitary Nigeria to make a spirited move to actualize their freedom to self-determination, once and for all. The minders of the crumbling status are like deer in the headlight, unsure of the next moves. But “We the people…”, who have been presumed to be “willing tools” and serfs in the “conquered territory” have always remained alert and ready to head for the gates to our freedom. Some have suggested a return to an agro-based economy as the ONLY sure path for future survival. Well, Unitarism must first be buried six feet under to allow for the emergence of a novel grassroots-based agriculture-driven economic system reminiscent of what existed in the First Republic.

But an imposed fraudulent 1999 Constitution has been used, in various forms in the past 50 years, to destroy a once productive and prosperous post-Independence Nigeria whose Eastern Region recorded the fasted growth in the gross domestic product (GDP) globally. 200 million stakeholders are now being hoodwinked with a fake document (so-called 1999 Constitution) contrived by General Abdulsalami Abubakar as an instrument for entrenching feudal Fulani hegemonic rule over Africa’s most populous country and little else. Buckle up, folks, for the impending Constitutional Force Majeure.
