The numbers of both Coronavirus infected people and death toll has been on the increase in the United States of America with Newyork having the highest numbers according to the “worldmeter” statistics below.

Surprisingly the death toll in the US was 73 as at March 15th 2020 and in less than two months it had skyrocketed to 65,782.

While we pray that the deceased rest in peace we cannot but imagine what our figures will look like in Nigeria in the next few months.

With the Nigerian government being lackadaisical to proactive localized testing, cash/ food palliatives and an effective crisis management framework, it is obvious that figures are going to soar in the coming weeks.

My personal advise to Nigerians is to adhere strictly to face-mask, hand-washing, sanitizers and general hygiene.

Whichever way it is, the reality is already here and we must pull through.

Some countries like Nigeria are under reporting cases of death. Nigeria hardly record out-of-hospital deaths. Look at what happened in Kano.

Number of cases also is grossly underreported in Nigeria. We have not tested enough to compare our statistics with USA.

That death toll is unbelievable. I was following the model when they reviewed from 100,000 to 60,000 but unfortunately they have crossed 60. However they have fought and are still fighting. By Monday Remdesvir will be deployed and I pray things improve. I read about a couple that lost an 8th year old daughter they had after some years of marriage and my heart broke. May the dead rest and loved ones consoled.

You are 100% correct bro.
Nigeria would have been a lot better if it had sensible leaders. The politicians use religion, ethnicity, in-exposure and nativity to divide its 300million citizens.

Just imagine if we had a well paid and well trained 1 million emergency response team but what do we have? “1 million boys” ready to rob people.

The unseen enemy would have at least been subdued to a relatively reasonable percentage.
