All football lovers had all stakeholders in football had to stop any footballing activity as a result of the novel coronavirus.This was a timely decision taken by footballing bodies such as FIFA, UEFA, the English FA etc.

Weeks after the decision was made, there has been an uncertainty about when footballing activities will commence hence a decision has to me made quickly regarding the uncertainties.



I am particular about the English premier league which I follow a lot.So I am actually looking at the impact of any decision that with be made by the English FA on the league.As we already know, the French ligue 1 has already been cancelled by the French government.

There are two scenarios we will look at.Firstly is the scenario where the 2019/2020 season is cancelled.This will mean two things,It will mean that there will be no winner and no relegated teams, hence the 2020/2021 season will start with the same teams.Also it could mean that Liverpool fc will be champions while Manchester city, Leicester and Chelsea will qualify for champions league football and Bournemouth, Aston villa, and Norwich will be relegated. This will be good news for Liverpool and teams outside the relegation zone, but teams like Manchester United and the relegated teams will feel robbed because they will argue that they could have had a chance to qualify for champions league football and retain their premier league status respectively.

The second scenario is where a tentative date is set for the league to resume.It will mean two things as well.The first is an option of allowing the season to continue form where it stopped by playing the remaining games.The second is starting a new season and making the teams start the new season with their previous points.

What ever the case may be, football livers cannot wait to see the beautiful game resume again.But in the meantime, we all need to stay indoors and observe all heath precautions.
