Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai on Saturday said only those who recharge their phones with N200 credit or less in a month will benefit from the second phase of the state’s palliatives to cushion the effect of coronavirus pandemic.

El-Rufai spoke as a quest speaker during the 24th edition of the Platform. The event was held online.

El-Rufai said his government intents to focus on the urban poor in the distribution of the palliatives during the extended lockdown in the state.

He added that government will rely on community leaders to identify the vulnerable in their communities who don’t have phones.

According to him, “We are using the mobile networks to know people that top up the credit units for their phones with N200 or less in a month. Those are also people that we consider to be poor and vulnerable.

Kaduna State is currently on 30 days lockdown to ensure community spread of the virus was halted, as well as ensure the disease was not transported into the state.

Recall that Almajiris deported from Kano State last week brought 21 cases of COVID-19 to Kaduna State.

You can't come out with better ways than these of identifying the most poor in the urban area.
And here you are talking nonsense just because have burning hatred in your heart.

The bar seems low enough. The question is if the govt has the resources to meet those who will fall in that net.

He's bluntly saying that none of the people residing in the urban area will be be eligible for the palliative provided they are going to use that yardstick.......

Stupid people,

How will an individual residing in an urban area and won't be able to recharge #200 in a month?

Mumu even said #200 or below, No, na #50 they supposed to recharge......

And how are you getting this data? Is that not subscriber data breach by the Telco to release such data without the permission of the subscriber? Are the telcos aware subscribers can sue for this ? They Telcos are very stupid for cooperating with such Nonsense and this may have adverse effect on the spending pattern of their subscribers in the future with people opting to load lower denominations just so they can qualify for govt social programs
