Please stop saying what you don't know. All almajiris have parents or guardians and they know their homes. They go home evey farming season to help their parents at home so how won't they know their homes? Do you know that their parents call them for feedback often? Most times they are sent in groups from the same community to another far away community in another state to go and study with a mallam know to their parents. The three of the almajiris schooling around my area in the north have touch light phones.

That's the Ruth. In Western countries, it is a crime. But here in the zoo, the almajiris are useful during election oooo. Even their cattle has more value than the president himself.

This problem will not just go away post Covid-19 EXCEPT government proscribe the Almajiri system and adequately punish the parents of the kids for that gross neglect.

God bless you. Truth hurts but it save lives. Enough of this almanjiri nonsense it should be abolish and ban.

Its so embarrassing jargon. Senegal, Gambia, Mali, Mauritania, Algeria, Libya, Morroco etc are 95% Muslim but you can not here almanjiri bullshit throwing kids to the street helplessly in the name of religion or culture its a shame.

These people will just start producing children up and down with their baby factory. They would have been saying or manner of insult if this action was taken by governor Wike .

The hypocrisy of the system and elites that turn blind eyes to this menace is sickening.

These innocent kids scanvenge for food even from dumpsites. They wear rags and practically no shelters during the biting cold . No body cares about their health and well being.
Pray how will somebody in this precarious situation be able to learn the Qur'an?

The practice is shameful and barbaric. The North has well structured Arabic schools and it is hightime they abolished and criminalize this archaic Almajiri system.

Anytime any day I prefer the wealth distribution pattern in the south east Igbo occupied states to what is obtainable anywhere else in Nigeria where a single individual will be the custodian of the inheritance of millions of their natives including these Almajiris. Just hope it is not their destiny that has been converted into wealth for the richest ?

No you are wrong, each of them knew his parents and town, those who might have forgot their village name will also return home because each malam will give that info about who brought them or he will be in trouble.
