2011 Election Rigging Initiated In Ogun State by CHALLENGER: 11:27am On Jan 11, 2011
NYSC members protested the removal of their names from the list of Ad-Hoc staff memebrs to be used by INEC for the Voters Registration exercise about to commence. Check http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5662767-146/youth_corps_members_protest_in_ogun.csp.

Responding to the protesting NYSC members, the INEC Public Relations Officer, Roland Dansu said, "the only officials to be used by the Commission and who are not corp members, are officials of National Population Commission and Department of National Civic Registration"
.

Now here is my point: Why is it that it is only in Ogun State that Corp members are not being used, when Jega has widely announced to use NYSC memebrs? Is there anything fishy? At least in all other states of the federation, NYSC members are used.

Remember that workers of the National Population Commission and Department of National Civic Registration are civil servants that are expected to do the bidding of their boss (expected to be loyal to the incumbent Administration). Though, these organisation are federal parastatals but, don't forget that the incumbent Governor is the South West Co-ordinator for Goodluck/Sambo campaign. Now here is the link:

Incumbent Governor ask the State Officers of these organisation to co-operate with him/his boys or loose thier job (or induce them financially). State officers of these organisation (National Population Commission and Department of National Civic Registration) can't reject offer because of intimidation or better still for percuniary gains.

The question is; Why make the NYSC members waste their scarce resources and go through the stress of registering for the process if you know you aren't going to need thier services? I strongly beleive something is fishy somewhere.

Why is it that it is in Ogun State alone that this is happenning (at least we have not heard similar things from other states)?

To worsen the matter, "Godwill Onakwe, the Ogun State NYSC director said the protesters have contravened the code of conduct guiding their participation in the NYSC scheme". I hope the State Director is not insinuating punishing the aggrieved NYSC members.

Pls lets do our best at stopping the rigging machineries in Ogun State from executing their plans.

Demand:

1) Let the NYSC members be used for this process. After all the allowances to take care of the logistic needs of these corps members have been taking into consideration and is part of the billions released to INEC, so the statement by the INEC PRO (Mr Dansu) that contrary to initial plan by INEC to use about 10,

00 adhoc staff, the Commission had to reduce it to 2,620 because of logistic problem is invalid and NOT true.

2) As NYSC memebrs are being used in other states so let the same be in Ogun State.
