My own fore fathers didn't worship idols. They worshipped the almighty God through his numerous manifestations.

The only problem I have with my fore fathers and their Gods is their love for secrecy. That's where the white men beat them hands down. African gods would approach and use you under some oaths of secrecy, but eastern Gods like Yaweh, Allah and Buddha made sure their teachings were written down for the next generation to read and follow.

My father whose father and grandfather were strong native doctors, can tell you exactly when the harmattan would start or cease by just observing the movements and appearances of the moon. He can predict some events by just observing the movements of the birds. And he learnt the act from his father and grandfather.
This points to the fact that our forefather's Gods inspired them a lot just like they are inspiring us today.
