A 17yrs old boy named Ebitari Ikiokimi killed a Dolphin at Ofoni-Toru fishing camp in Kolokuma Opokuma Local Government Area in Bayelsa This morning. Ebitari Ikiokimi is a young Fisher who was born and brought up at the fishing camp. Mr Perez Ikiokimi the father of Ebitari has stayed in the fishing camp for over 30yrs, who’s occupation is fishing. The young boy has learned a lot of fishing skills from his father. He has been thought how to use nets, hooks, traps and other fishing materials. On Monday morning Ebitari used a vast woven fishing net with floaters owned by his father to trap the sea monster which he saw. He went later in the evening to check, but noticed the net was no longer there. The manatee has escaped with the net, he tried to make some traces but all to no avail. He came back home and informed his father. On Tuesday morning which was yesterday the father and son went back in search for the net. After spending hours in the river, lo and behold the monster fish was found struggling with the net.

Sigh.... The curse upon Nigeria might even be from animals. The way we deplete our wild and aquatic life is alarming More reasons our leaders and citizens are behaving like different types of animals. 4 Likes |

And dolphins are so harmless and playful sea creatures. Well, it's just one of the thousands of animals we call food. There's no humane way to kill an animal. It is what it is. 1 Like |

Why the heck would you kill a creature as lovely as a dolphin? Poverty is indeed a bastard That dolphin picked the wrong location tho . Of all countries, why would you choose Nigerian waters? What happened to the US? 2 Likes |

Theyll still come and defend the killing of a dolphin too. Probably the most intelligent creatures on earth, which have been known to rescue drowning men. Illiteracy is indeed worse than poverty. 1 Like |
