EVERYBODY IS A LIAR

There is a secret and or lie behind every truth. Equally, there is a secret and or truth behind every lie. Take a critical look at every truth, every lie and every story because, there is a ‘devil in every detail’.

Law 32 of The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene advises that we “Play to people’s fantasies. The truth is often avoided because it is ugly and unpleasant. Never appeal to truth and reality unless you are prepared for anger that comes for disenchantment. Life is so harsh and distressing that people who can manufacture romance or conjure up fantasy are like oases in the desert: everyone flocks to them. There is great power in tapping into the fantasies of the masses”. Greene (1998), The 48 Laws of Power

Contrary to what people may prefer to think, everybody is a liar; truth is only told on the pretext of a lack of the right reason to lie, and this right reason soon presents itself and our true nature soon manifests. Still, a lie is conceived of as an appropriate option or the best thing to be done at particular times, not necessarily that people lie because they want to.

Everyone is morally upright if his own standards were to be the yardstick for measurement; it only becomes immoral when their actions are measured with the moral bar that has been set by a certain society. The most successful people are perhaps the most effective liars (not the most chronic or perpetual but the most effective liars).

This does not translate to meaning that once one is able to lie very well, one will become successful; life is not that simple my dear! However, to be successful, one will have to be able to convince people. People will have to believe in you, what you do and what you stand for before they can buy into your project which will contribute in giving you what you want; success!

This is not a sermon for or against lies- it is simply whatever you consider it to be!
Your character will determine the kind of influence that this book will have on you.
