In the battle against COVID-19,residents' committees play a important role.They buy foods,drugs etc for residents who must stay at home during lockdown.so, what are residents' committees?lets learn about the administrative division of China first.

1.province-level region:there are 33 province-level regions in China. For example,Hubei Province is a part of the Central China region with an area of 185,900 square kilometer.And the population of Hubei is 58.50 million.

2.prefecture-level region:there are 17 prefecture-level regions in Hubei, such as Wuhan.Wuhan is the capital of Hubei Province with an area of 8,494 square kilometers.And the population of Wuhan is 11.21 million.

3.county-level region:sometimes, they can also be called districts.there are 13 districts in Wuhan,such as Qiaokou District.Qiaokou's area is 41.46 square kilometer.And the population of Qiaokou is 0.62 million.

4.township-level region:one county or district has several townships.sometimes, townships can be called subdistricts.For example,Qiaokou Districts has 11 subdistricts.One of subdistricts is Zongguan Subdistrict which has an area of 3.71 square kilometer and 70,610 residents.

5.village-level region:one township has several villages.In a subdistrict,a village is called a community.For example,Zongguan Subdistrict has 11 communities.one of them is Shuangdun Community which has an area of 0.3 square kilometer and 7,031 residents.Generally, several estates make up one community.
A residents' committee of a community or village is a organization for self government at the grass-roots level.
There are altoghter 1225 urban residents' committees and 1905 villagers' committees in Wuhan.
