guy, upstream refers to major oil operations. E.g explorations, refining while downstream is about the product retailing. But why would ur boss send u this kind of message? |

Petroleum Engineering is concerned with the exploration and production aspect of the oil industry which is known as the upstream industry. The downstream industry is more related to chemical engineering and deals mostly with refining. |
