Special Adviser to the Governor on DESOPEDEC Matters, Rt. Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq. has commended Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta state over the appointment of Alhaji Suleiman Jauro as member, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Oboro in her speech, during Alhaji Jauro visit to her country home in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area on Saturday, commended the Governor for the appointments of persons with credible credentials into his government, remarking that the governor by his action has demonstrated good traits of qualitative leadership.

She said, so far the governor’s appointments has cut across ethnic, zones and religious lines, appealing to the non-indigenes and Muslim community in Uvwie Local Government Area to give the governor their total support to enable him provide more dividends of democracy to the people.

Oboro, Former Federal House of Representatives member, while congratulating Alhaji Jauro, described him as a politician who has distinguished himself considering what he had done personally for the PDP. “His appointment indicates good omen for the Muslim community because he has demonstrated times without number that he is a true patriot of the Peoples Democratic Party with his continuous support for the party and Governor Okowa’s administration.

“I heartily commend our dear Governor on the choice of Alhaji Suleiman Jauro as member, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. I have known Jauro as a focused, brilliant and hardworking gentleman Delta state can boast of. He is coming to the position of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board with a robust knowledge of the workings of government”, she reiterated.

Oboro, the Delta Central Senatorial Candidate of the PDP in the last general elections, used the opportunity to appeal to Deltans to continue to adhere to the state government guidelines in handling the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic by maintaining social/physical distance, frequent hand washing, wearing of facemask public places and use of sanitizers in order to contain spread of the virus in the state and Nigeria at large.
