The place of Governor Ugwuanyi in the fight against coronavirus By CNPP

Great leaders find the balance between business foresight, performance, and character. They have vision, courage, integrity including humility and focus along with the ability to plan strategically and catalyze cooperation amongst their team, just like they say, the price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of expertise and commitment to the task at hand and it is on this note that the leadership of CNPP in Enugu state commend the executive governor of Enugu state, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on his doggedness and pragmatic approach to check the spread of this highly contagious coronavirus in the state.

The CNPP leadership maintained that the governor has shown that decision making is essential for survival in a challenging time like this and that right leadership is not about noise making, yes the obvious fact here remains that Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is a silent achiever.

At a press conference, the CNPP leadership in the state stated that they are satisfied with the way the governor is handling the invisible enemy called coronavirus and that the effort of the governor put the minds of the people of Enugu state at peace having taken the necessary steps and measures required to checkmate the spread of the virus.

Speaking to newsmen, The state CNPP boss, Chief Adonis Igwe JP pointed that the very low rate of the infection in the state is not only a show of a well planned strategy and approach put in place by the governor and his team, it also prove to satisfaction that governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is no doubt a good manager of affliction and a practical reflection of a leader who is in touch with the reality of life. Decisiveness they say is the one word that makes a good manager.

According to Chief Igwe, by now one would expect that Enugu state like some other regional capitals will be ravaged by the spread of the virus but facts shows that Enugu is one of the least state in the spread of the virus despite the location and many other difficulties.

Speaking further, Chief Igwe pointed out that at a time like this, all hands need to be on desk and call on everyone in the state to see this battle against the invisible enemy as a personal business instead of leaving all the responsibilities to the governor or some few selected persons as no single man can do this alone, it require the collective effort of everybody to see to the defeat of this enemy called coronavirus.

He called on the market leaders across the state to understand that the world not just Enugu state is at war with this enemy and that the governor's decisions and steps so far are for their best interest as no Great Leader take pride in losing any of his soldiers in a war and His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi cannot be exception. His decisions in the recent time regarding the covid-19 is of international best practices and a reminder to us that we have a leader who truly care for his people.

For market leaders, Chief Igwe call on them to use their position and work assiduously to see that the lay down rules and guidelines are maintained in their areas of jurisdiction. He noted that this is not the time to lay accusing finger or blame on anyone nothing that we should understand that we are at war, a war without bullet or ammunition. This is a war without troops or tanks but the good news is that this war can be defeated only when there is cooperation, respect to the authority and individual's effort in maintaining social distancing and reporting any suspected case in the neighborhood. With these, victory is ours.

In this same vein, the elder state man used the opportunity to congratulate the newly appointed chief of staff to the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in the person of Prof. Ibrahim Gambari. In his words, I enjoin the good people of Nigeria to congratulate you my learned professor and urge you to use your wide range of experience for the good of the country & also help to stir the ship of Nigeria to a safe ground and at the same time I think is important the presidency move quickly to make sure that the covid-19 palliatives get to the people who are truly in need and make sure that no one plays politics with the stomach of Nigerians, warning that it will be dangerous, inhuman and insensitive for anyone to disregard the possible consequences of another likely pandemic called hunger pandemic.

Finally, to the good people of Enugu State, the decision to keep yourself and love ones safe are right there in front of you and remember that your safety is my safety so let's join hands together to secure ourselves.

Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Long Live Enugu State.
Long live CNPP.
