Nearly all the projects excuted in Dubai came from money borrowed from ADIB, RAK, and the Islamic development bank.
These banks don't charge interest! They only partner with you and collect their money back while maintaining about 1-10% of the ownership of the business depending on how much loan you want. THIS MEANS, they will ONLY borrow you money if your business is feasible and they can benefit on the long run from part of the profit you make for a limited amount of time.
My father has a business in Eleme, and he's paying an interest of 25% to a microfinance bank! This microfinance is owned by one of the strong church leaders he attends oh!
Simply because of covid19, his account is now showing debit, because he couldn't pay...I mean, this bank owned by a Christain didnt even care that my father's business was shut down, they kept texting, calling and even visited him at home. They have been eyeing his Pathfinder Jeep, and discussing its value right there infront of my father. Meaning my father wont be paying 2.5million for the 2 million naira he borrowed, if care is not taken he will have to pay roughly 2.75million or 3million by the end of the year. And he has already paid 1 million before the pandemic! Can you imagine!!! The parasitic banks in Nigeria are destroying the economy by killing small businesses! They prefer giving money out to government and politicians. Anyways, kudos to Umahi for seeing beyond the religious BS. Since the church is ONLY interested in reopening so they can continue doing magic shows and collecting tithes from their members, I think a serious leader won't mind engaging a far more sincere and positive religious institution even if it isnt christain-based.
I think i will open an account with one of this islamic bank sef once im around. I don't give a damn what any Christain thinks or say about Islamic banking, it is the most humane financial institution in the world!

What else can I say?

This shows truth is constant, no matter what efforts people put up to distort it.

Tell your dad to report the micro finance bank to CBN. I remember seeing a directive from CBN asking banks to be patient with borrowers.

I’ll rather pay interest than let you own 1-10% of my investment . If you don’t know that is another form of capitalism then you need more education. Eventually when they sell the 10% , are they going to make a profit or not ? Have you heard of venture capitalists? How is Islamic banking system different from venture capitalism. They simply adopt a system that already exists and give it a different name to push their agenda.

Capitalism is capitalism regardless of whether it’s practised in a Muslim or Christian country. Turkey is a Muslim country yet they practise capitalism. The state religion of Russia is orthodox Christianity yet they practised socialism and communism where no body could be richer that his fellow man .

By the way here in Canada , the mortgage rate now is around 2%.

You may have been a church boy but it’s clearly a meaningless nomenclature.

I think a lot of people are out of tune with what the church is about. The Islamic loan system was established by the govt of such countries who are 99.9% Moslems. It's a good system no doubt. The microfinance bank your dad borrowed money from owned by the church operates a system I believe is guided by the CBN(govt) lending acts or what have you but it's the church that takes the knock.
So, because your dad is a member of the church, the loan should be written off? Did he not see TCs before he took the loan?
Our govt. should do the needful and we should stop blaming churches for the inefficiency of our govt.

the guy is right bruv, the church too can come up with a more humanitarian system of banking instead of following the ways of the world, this is why Islam continues to woo so much influence in our world today. The church need to change tactics or continue to face more difficult questions to answer

Am glad reading ur comment.
The day we treat business as business the better for us.
Am a CHRISTIAN but one of the main problem facing the so called CHRISTIAN is that we go to church to look at our PASTORS Which should not be.

Do you Know that lending people money with interest that will not be used for business is a SIN. Though I can't quote were you can find this in the old testament.

My point here is that the day we learn to behave in a human way and not attach any thing that will hurt our neighbors that doesn't subscribe to our religion the better for us.

We only have two religion in the world HUMANITY & EVIL.

I like your SPIRIT

May God never allow us to get to a situation where we will use diplomacy to eat our enemy's food. That is a Yoruba's proverb - Oyaya jeun ota - using diplomacy or system to eat enemy's food out of deep or abject poverty.

Comparing Islamic Development Bank with a Microfinance Bank owned by an individual is very untreasonable. IMANI Mortgage and Finance Bank (now defunct) that was the original owner of Imani Estate, Abuja belonged to a very good Muslim, while in existence, they charged interests. We have a lot of MFBs in the North that collect interests. That does not have anything to do with Church member or a muslim ownership of Banks. There are banks that practice Islamic banking but they are not international financial institutions .

There are so many developmental banks in the world. They have their vision and mission. Islamic Development Bank has her Missions and Visions. Dave Umahi cannot claim he is unaware. Shedrack, Meshach and Abednego rejected to bow for king image, Daniel rejected the King delicacy. They prefer death to submission of their WILL power.

At last, the Ibos are now enjoying the benefit of Islam . You cannot benefit from Islam and insult their people in Nigeria . You cannot challenge Nigeria membership of Organization of Islamic countries (OIC) now called organization of Islamic Cooperations,if you do, that is haram.

As for you, we have banks practicing Islamic Banking in Nigeria, just tell your father to close his account at the Microfinance Bank at Eleme and open an account with one.

I do no not understand how Ebonyi ring road will connect neighbouring Cameroun republic. Ebonyi state shares boundary with Cross State to the East. It will be appropriate to say, Ebonyi ring road will connect the existing Enugu (Nigeria) - Mamfe (Cameroun) highway.
