The Defence Headquarters has disclosed that Boko Haram insurgents have abandoned their wives and children and fled from Nigerian troops.

The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, disclosed this today, 15 May 2020.

He said that the troops had also continued to launch onslaught on the terrorists from both land and air fronts leading to the killing of scores of the terrorists in recent time.

He also said 11 members of terrorists have surrendered to Nigerian troops.

He explained that the 11 BHT fighters surrendered to troops on May 11. According to him, this number of surrendered BHT fighters is an indication of the heat of our operational activities on the terrorists due to the renewed impetus in the theatre to end the criminality.

There are indications that more terrorists are willing to surrender.

He said;

"One of such moves, was the dropping off of 72 family members of BHTs comprising 33 women and 39 children at the entrance of Ngala town in Ngala Local Government Area of Borno on May 10 at about 8.30 pm."

That Boko Haram have always staged spectacular combacks is both new. What's different this time is that they are being pumelled from the air and ground forces. No matter where they pop up.

They take photos now ay every opportunity to pretend they are under no pressure but in reality the group is breaking at its seams because of round the clock aerial and artillery bombardment. It scares the crap out of them. They have never been in this kind of situation before.

They have always touted their invincibility over the Nigerian military. Unfortunately they failed to realize Nigeria has never mobilized for full scale war since the insurgency began. This is the very first time the nation is being put on a war footing.

Army Boss - Tukur Buratai have self deployed to the front and have vowed not to leave the frontline until Boko Haram is crushed decisively. I doubt any army in the region will be able to withstand the level of bombardment being metted out to the Jihadi group.
