Some Ex-student of Mountain Top University (MTU) shared free 1000 alcohol based hand sanitizers to Kogi communities to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Babalola Benjamin who finished as the Best Graduating Student from the University last year 2019, together with his team were seen sharing sanitizers to the rural communities and villages in their bid to preserve and impact lives during the Covid-19 period.

At the time this humanitarian act was performed, Kogi State has not recorded any positive case of the coronavirus.

The Mountain Top University graduates who can been seen on NYSC khaki aimed to prevent the virus by giving out preventive equipment.

Kogi State Commissioner for Health , Dr. Saka Audu Haruna has also disclosed strategies deployed by the state government to contain spread of the disease.

Babalola Benjamin said;

“COVID-19 WILL FADE

Our heart goes out to those affected by the lethal corona virus. Our deep appreciation also to the ever dedicated front line workers, personnels and organizations who have dimmed it fit to support the masses during the pandemic period.

As part of our contribution to impact lives during this trying times, my team and I, who happen to be Alumni of the Mountain Top University, commenced last month a project that ensures awareness, sensitization and aims at the free distributions of 1000 alcohol based hand sanitizers to rural communities and villages during the covid-19 pandemic.

Although Kogi has not recorded any positive case of the coronavirus, we took it upon ourselves to sensitize the Okumi village where few had knowledge of the virus due to language barrier and poor information dissemination. We also distributed hand sanitizers for free to members of the community.

We hope to reach out to more rural communities and less privileged persons as we hope to impact lives positively and curb the spread of this virus in line with the W.H.O, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Government of Kogi State on the fight against the coronavirus.

We strongly believe that this hard time will fade away soon and normalcy be restored to the World again.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!”
