COVID-19 presidential task force met with President Buhari on Sunday, 17th May to discuss issues bordering on COVID-19 and the recommendations of the committee.

A statement by the National Coordinator of the task force Dr. Sani Aliyu said: “We have made our recommendations to Mr. President and we will have to wait for his decision tomorrow.”

However, Nigerians were rather concerned about the president’s appearance in the meeting without a face mask.

Opinions from social media users showed that Nigerians were not comfortable with the president not leading by example. Others differed, pointing that the president is in a safe zone, the villa hence, he does not have to wear a face mask. Whereas, others sharply disagreed, saying not wearing a face mask does not exemplify leading by example.
